Through the financial support of the New World Foundation, Hein and Susan Lange erected the Tankwa Community Centre/Hall in 2014. The venue is used during the community day, houses an honesty library, and is used for church services. The hall is available to the community for any meetings, services and cultural activities to be hosted, and bookings can be made through Hein and Susan Lange.

Library

Hein and Susan Lange established an honesty library (2014) in a section of the Tankwa Community Hall to enable access to reading materials, educational toys and children’s books. The library is not manned by anyone, and it remains the responsibility of the library user to record lending from the library in a book provided and to return materials in a timely fashion. The library is stocked with materials in a variety of genres and provides services to the local farms, farm workers and even tourists traveling in the Tankwa. Donations are shared with schools libraries at Middelpos, Elandsvlei and Matjiesrivier. Elandsvlei established a second honesty library in January 2017 allowing farm workers in that district access to reading materials and Afrikaans DVDs.
